About Moore Justice

Our justice system is far from perfect, which can sometimes lead to wrongful convictions and miscarriages of justice. Our principle solicitor, Jeremy Moore, has 30 years of experience in representing clients in some of the most complex and high profile cases, fighting for his clients to try and achieve justice.

Whether it is a case that has yet to go before the courts, or one where a person has already been convicted, we have access to some of the country’s leading barristers, forensic experts and private investigators to do everything we can to make sure that every single aspect of your case is fully explored and investigated.

Crown Court Cases

We work together with some of the leading barristers in the country to ensure that you have the best representation that you possibly have to present your defence in court. We can assist you from day one of the investigation stage of your case in the police station, to your appearance at court, making sure that no stone is left unturned in defending you. In cases where a client admits their guilt of the charges, we will work with them to make sure that their mitigation is put forward in the best possible light to achieve the best possible sentence in all of the circumstances.

Appeals

If you are the victim of a miscarriage of justice, we will move heaven and earth to fully investigate the circumstances of your conviction, explore the possibility of new witnesses and endeavour to obtain any new forensic evidence that may be relevant to your case. We assist clients in the Court of Appeal and in applications to the Criminal Cases Review Commission, sometimes many years after a conviction where new evidence has come to light, working with some of the top barrister and forensic experts in the country.

If you accept your guilt, but you believe that your sentence was excessive, we are able to advise you as to whether you have an arguable case to appeal your sentence and, if so, to submit an appeal against sentence on your behalf. Please note that there is a 28 day time limit from the date of conviction for appeals against conviction, or from the date of sentence for appeals against sentence. In some circumstances it is possible to apply for permission to appeal out of time if there are are justifiable reasons for the delay.

Proceeds of Crime

When a person is found guilty, or accepts their guilt, then the Crown will often seek to confiscate any assets that they assess to be the proceeds of crime. Often wholly unrealistic figures are arrived at which, if left unpaid, can result in an additional prison sentence. It is therefore vital that you have the best possible representation in challenging figures arrived at by the Crown, which will often require the instruction of forensic accountants to counter the figures arrived at. We have strong relationships with specialist forensic accountants who are able to present figures to counter those put forward by the prosecution.
